For the past year, Stephanie has been planning a birthday cruise with our oldest daughter, Mariah. Mariah celebrates her 16th birthday this week. To say this cruise is a BIG deal is an understatement.
Friday we had a bon voyage / birthday party for Mariah.
Saturday night Steph called me from Orlando. She was upset. I can’t find my purse. It has my ID and passports. I think it was stolen. I’m not sure they will let us on the ship tomorrow.
What took place from 11:00PM Saturday night to 4:00PM Sunday afternoon was amazing.
It’s all explained in the video. Grab some popcorn and settle in.

Thanks to the Marriott Orlando Airport hotel for incredible customer service.
Check out The Perfect Gift, the biz run by Shirley and Norm. They are amazing.
To book your next cruise, call Kelsie or John at Dreams Unlimited. You will not be disappointed.
I’m probably forgetting to thank somebody. If you were any part of this little miracle, THANK YOU!

This is truly amazing.
I hope they are enjoying their cruise.
FANtastic!
I am so glad it worked out. I was watching the boards all day wishing there was something I could do to help. I felt the angst when you hit a dead end and felt elation when I found out they were on the ship! The kindness of others is a gift that opens the heart.
I followed you here from the thread on the DIS. What a video – I’m in tears from your awesome story. I’m so happy for your wife and daughter – for getting on that ship and for having a husband and father like you.
Oh, and I’ve ordered baskets from Shirley’s shop before – she’s incredible.
Thank you for sharing your story. It was a testiment to all those of us who believe that exceptional customer service and just plain caring for each other is something we all should value. I work in the travel industry too and there have been times such as yours that we are pushing the limits to “make it happen”. We become apart of our clients lives and their dreams of special times. Memory Making moments. I am so happy your daughter and wife can have those special moments this week and thankful to see those in our industry and and those who are connected with it somehow have soared above and beyond. Your post has inspired us all!
Hi ya’ll, this is Frances from the Orlando Airport Marriott. I’m just getting to watch your video now (a mix between school and work delayed me), but I just want to say that I’m amazed at how many people were actually helping you! I wasn’t aware!
I have to say that it was in the books for Stephanie and Mariah to make their trip. See, usually 528 (the highway that takes you into the port) is infested with Highway Troopers just looking to handout tickets like Halloween candy. I was doing 90 miles an hour down 528 without a single trooper on the way. From my point of view, I was honestly just doing my job, providing the level of customer service that is expected by our managers. The real miracle is the fact that I didn’t get a ticket!!!
Anyway, Mr. and Mrs. Longyear, I feel like I have known you both forever and I hope that you do stay at the Orlando Airport Marriott for your next trip to Orlando! Take care
